Southwest Foodservice Excellence Launches SFE Future Foodies

School lunch provider serves up an extra lesson on food with new nutrition education program

Scottsdale, AZ (March 8, 2023) – From the classroom to cafeteria, students will get an in-depth look at their food with SFE Future Foodies, a new nutrition education program from Southwest Foodservice Excellence (SFE), a national foodservice management company that specializes in K-12 nutrition. Developed by SFE registered dieticians and chefs, SFE Future Foodies will highlight a different ingredient every month, share recipes, provide culinary demonstrations, and enhance the company’s “Roving Chef” and farmer’s market experience for students.

Our goal is to empower and excite students in making strong choices when it comes to their nutrition,” says Chef Monty Staggs, CEO of SFE. “We’re offering an immersive learning approach where students can learn about the nutritional benefits and develop a passion for incorporating healthy produce into their diet regularly.”

Schools will be provided with new resources including renovated mobile “Roving Chef” culinary carts, guides on establishing a school garden, and learning materials for students to take home.

It was important for SFE to launch an accessible program where every school, regardless of size, can succeed in changing the way students think about the food that fuels their body,” added Staggs.
