Dan Matello, AA
President of Compliance and Operational Effectiveness

Dan Matello brings over 25 years of food service experience management to SFE. Dan began his career in food service as a director for a school district with over 25,000 students. During that time, Dan earned his degree in Food Production Management and excelled in his operational understanding of day to day school food operations. Dan focused on implementing nutritious menus to drive student and adult participation.

In 2006, Dan joined the SFE family as the Director of Dining Services for Flagstaff Public Schools. In that position, Dan demonstrated an exemplary understanding of operations, personnel management, and culinary expertise, thus launching his career path within SFE. In 2010, Dan was promoted to the VP of Field Operations, at which time he and his family relocated to Austin, Texas. Dan oversaw and orchestrated the development and progression of all SFE partnerships.

Today, as SFE C0-President, Dan focuses on driving operational excellence across the country. Dan truly understands the challenges that food service directors face; therefore, he views every challenge as an opportunity for improvement, taking the time to lead, guide, and mentor our directors to ensure the integrity of our food service operations.
