Beth Phalen is a proven customer service executive with over 20 years of experience in leading strategic planning, operations, business development and business transformation. A graduate of Darden Business School and Harvard Executive Education programs, she has developed a unique ability to combine her multi-market strategic and operational expertise to solve complex business challenges for customers.
Before joining SFE, Beth served as Chief Operations Officer for Shelby County Schools, where she managed a budget of over $300 million in one of America’s top 25 largest school districts (110,000 students). In this role, Beth led nutrition services, facilities planning, management and maintenance, construction, transportation, procurement, contracts, grounds and print departments. Hired to develop strategy and execute broad improvements across the school district, she led a collaborative, cross-functional team to hone both internal processes and outsourcing solutions.
Beth has also held a range of top leadership positions in outsourced services companies that have included Pitney-Bowes International (Chief Operations Officer), Service Master (VP Business Operations) and ISS Facility Services (Executive Vice President, Strategy & Operations).
Having worked on the front lines within one of the country’s largest metropolitan school districts, Beth brings to SFE a true passion for culinary and service excellence. With her reputation for leading business strategies to improve customer service and drive growth, she is now positioned to help bring the programs of SFE partner districts to a new level of excellence.
