Beth Phalen is a top-performing customer service executive with over 20 years of experience in leading strategic planning, operations, business development and business transformation.

A graduate of Darden and Harvard Executive Education programs, she has developed a unique ability to combine her consultative skills with solution-selling and operational expertise to solve complex business issues for customers. Before joining SFE, she has held a range of top leadership roles that have included Pitney-Bowes International (COO and GM), Service Master (VP Business Operations) and ISS Facility Services (Executive Vice President, Strategy & Operations).

More recently, she also served as COO for Shelby County Schools, where she managed a budget of over $300 million in one of America’s top 25 largest school districts (110,000 students). Within this essential K-12 leadership role, Beth held responsibility for nutrition services, facilities planning, management and maintenance, construction, transportation, procurement, contracts, grounds and print departments. Hired to develop strategy and execute broad improvements across the school district, she led a collaborative, cross-functional team to hone both internal processes and outsourcing solutions.

Having worked on the front lines within one of the country’s largest metropolitan school districts, Beth comes to SFE with a real passion for culinary and service excellence. With her reputation for leading business strategies to drive growth, improve customer service and increase profits, she’s now positioned to help bring the programs of SFE’s customers to a new level of excellence.
